LOEWE

-

Jonathan Anderson is a designer who does not settle on a single point of reference. Instead, he collages bits and pieces for the collections both at his eponymous line and Loewe. It might seem like a haphazard process to some, but one thing’s for sure: All of Anderson’s undertakings at Loewe never fail to bring the savoir-faire of the Spanish brand to the fore. This season, Anderson took material manipulation to new heights. An all-leather, blouson-and-skirt combination looked like it was finessed from sheets of chocolate; elsewhere, a skirt comprising many layers of circular discs swished with wild abandon. The final look—a single dress that merged lamé, tweed and silk—deserved more than a second glance to understand the work that went into it.
