They say “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”. So when Italian House Fendi unveiled its brand new boutique in ION Orchard, a fashionable fête for the region’s glitterati followed. Pop star, Nathan Hartono, sparked off a ruckus in the mall’s atrium, where a pop-up Fendi Kiosk displayed the season’s coveted accessories, before Singapore’s screen queens Zoe Tay, Fann Wong, Rebecca Lin and Jeanette Aw drew swarms of fans who snapped their black-carpet walks from behind the velvet rope. VIPs and regional celebrities shopped and mingled the night away in store, leaving with more than a yellow paper bag or two in hand, but also postcards with Sue Tilley’s illustrations— the brand’s spring/summer 2018 collaborator—and handwritten notes by calligraphers on-site.
