Erin Chen, a former management consultant, observed a lack of opportunities and space to talk about sexual wellness in Singapore, so she launched Lila Sutra in 2015. For many women, it’s a safe space where they can talk freely about sexuality and pleasure and, literally, get the tools they need.
“For sex to be fullling, we need to know our preferences and be comfortable with communicating what we want,” explains Erin. Which is why her workshops, called socials, are no-holds-barred sessions where women can talk about anything from blow jobs to anal sex.
“One woman shared that early menopause was affecting her sex drive. It turned out that she had never discussed sex with anyone before, and she didn’t know that other women also needed plenty of external stimulation during intercourse to reach orgasm. After two hours of authentic, fun and informative conversations about sex, it nally clicked that what she felt was normal,” says Erin.
