You should be cuddling more

-

“Biologically, cuddling likely evolved as a way to strengthen bonds with our mates and children, to ensure that we stay near them,” explains Norman Li, associate professor of psychology at Singapore Management University. Cuddling releases oxytocin – the same hormone released during orgasms – which causes us to “like someone more, and increase the likelihood we continue being with that person.”

Cuddling also indicates intimacy and affection, adds Prof Li. “If someone doesn’t like to cuddle, they could be uncomfortable getting emotionally close to people. [But] it could also be person-specic – they’re just not that into you.” If your man’s the sort to skip the post-coital cuddles and go straight to sleep, you might want to initiate a chat about where this relationship is going.
