Do it yourself

Prefer to fly solo? You can still enjoy ecotherapy. First, find a green space. Then make sure you leave your tech at home so you can focus, says You Min. “Be slow and mindful during your walk in nature. Be very aware of what you’re seeing, smelling, hearing, touching, and even tasting,” she says. Finally, make sure you locate a “sit spot” – an accessible and comfortable space where you can sit for 15 minutes and just “be”.

If you’re the sort who already loves a good hike, you can incorporate ecotherapy into it. Deviate from your usual route to find a flat area. Spend 30 minutes exploring it. Start by standing still and feeling the ground beneath your feet. Relax your face, and let your arms hang loosely by your sides. Then, start to walk slowly. Be conscious of what’s around you – listen to the birdsong, or notice the vibrant colours of the trees. YOU MIN’S PICKS FOR THE MOST CONVENIENT PLACES TO FIND YOUR ZEN
