You may be wondering what the big deal about 4K is.
If anything, the megapixel race we’ve seen in still cameras has simply proved that up to a certain point, any subsequent gain in resolution is meaningless unless you zoom in. But that’s exactly the point. Consider these numbers: 2 million and 8.3 million ( pixels). That’s the difference in resolution between current Full HD (1080p) televisions and 4K televisions, and translates to a lot more pixels packed together which means you’re less likely to see the individual pixels when you’re sitting close to the television. The other added advantage is a wider color gamut and greater bit depth, so 4K pictures look more vibrant and have greater contrast.
