A diamond in the rough

Rolls Royce Cullinan

Rolls Royce Cullinan

Rolls Royce has arrived at the SUV party in style. Named after the world’s largest gem-quality rough diamond ever found, the Cullinan is Rolls Royce’s rst ever SUV and it is their answer to hyper SUVs like the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus.

The Cullinan is more a luxury land yacht for the wild outdoors than an SUV. To begin, the car is colossal. At 5.3m long, 2.1m wide, and over 2,600kg in weight, it makes even large cars like the Porsche Panamera seem small.

Its power plant is equally massive, a twinturbocharged 6.75-liter V12 that produces 563hp and 850nm of torque. Rolls Royce doesn’t divulge 0-100km/h numbers because it thinks that discussing that sort of stu is juvenile and crude.

The Cullinan also dispenses with the usual grass, gravel, mud, and snow driving modes and instead only presents owners with a simple ‘Everywhere’ button. Press it and the Cullinan will go just about wherever you want it to go. It can even wade through bodies of water up to 0.54 meters deep. No fear of ponding, then.

The interior is typical Rolls Royce stu , which is to say lots of high-quality wood, leather, and metal. The insides are also highly customizable. Longtime Rolls Royce owners can opt for individual chairs in the back row complete with a chiller for your wine and champagne. Or, they can opt for the more practical Lounge seat option, which is basically a foldable three-person bench. In short, the Cullinan will take you wherever you want to go in an abundance of style, luxury, and comfort.
