The Pen of the Year Edition trilogy is now complete with the limited-edition “Schönbrunn Palace, Vienna”, inspired by Empress Maria Theresa’s love for her departed husband, Francis Stephen of Lorraine, and her fascination with Chinese lacquerware. Silvia Miklin, conservator of the palace’s Vieux-laque Room, and Japanese maki-e artist Tomizo Saratani designed the barrels with 24k gold powder on lacquer.
