Ranked eighth in Hong Kong’s and 188th on Forbes’ billionaires list, Walter Kwok founded Empire Group Holdings in 2014 to rebuild his property business. The consortium led by the former chairman of Sun Hung Kai and Sino Land jointly won a tender to develop The Fullerton Hotel at Ocean Park. The joint venture partners have pledged to invest an estimated $390 million in the project, previously named Fisherman’s Wharf Hotel.
