The MIDDLE
September 15-November 27
Known for his penchant for creating deliberately unresolved objects that leave viewers unsettled, British artist Tom Ellis employs a range of techniques across mediums, including sculpture, figurative paintings and furniture hybrids, at this exhibition at the Wallace Collection in London. The show also sees Ellis adapting figurative motifs from earlier works (such as Teniers the Younger’s arresting image of a shoemaker), to examine the possibilities of indeterminacy and detachment.
