Valued between US$12,000 and $18,000, this ink-and-watercolour piece by Dr Seuss is making its auction debut at Swann Auction Galleries’ Illustration Art sale. This 1950 masterpiece, which tells the tale of a twin brother’s quest for independence, was first seen in Redbook magazine, before appearing in a recently published book of rediscovered Seuss stories, titled The Bippolo Seed and Other Lost Stories. Other works by the likes of Aubrey Beardsley, Dean Cornwell, Charles Addams and Earl Moran will also go on the block.
