Beyond Borders
Not even distance could keep Jefferson Tan and Tiffany Primalia from falling head over heels in love. Tan, who is based in Cebu, Philippines, and Primalia, who lives in Singapore, met serendipitously when their businesses became entwined with the other. Formal meetings became casual dates and the duo is now set to tie the knot in December. To announce this good news, the couple and Primalia’s family threw an elaborate engagement party. Held at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore, the party was intended as a way to share their joy with family and friends, some of whom may not be able to travel to the Philippines later in the year for the wedding ceremony. Some 440 guests attended — including Congressman Johnny Pimentel and Congressman Prospero Pichay Jr from Manila — to shower the couple with congratulatory messages. “Walking hand-in-hand with Jeff into a room full of familiar, beloved faces was an unforgettable moment,” recalls the bride-to-be. The ballroom was dressed to an Oriental theme with peonies and dragon-print fans as decor — a fitting backdrop to the sumptuous Chinese dinner spread. Entertainment that evening included a performance by family friend Wang Chen, who sang “Never Gonna Be Alone” by Nickelback at Primalia’s request.
