loro piana elevates its new collection with rare Merino wool christened The Gift of Kings. Back in the 18th century, Spanish sovereigns gifted pairs of these sheep to seal pacts and forge alliances. Measuring only 12 microns, the noble fibre is finer than cashmere and as light as vicuña, which makes it super-soft and exquisitely fluid. It also means that this exceptional wool — the product of a collaboration with select breeders in Australia and New Zealand some 30 years ago — is extremely limited in quantity.
