Chermaine Pang and Terence Siew are proud parents to nine-month-old twins, Lucas and Leia. Chermaine, a private banker, juggles work, motherhood and social engagements with ease, remaining the epitome of refinement with nary a hair out of place.
Her adorable bundles of joy, she shares, have “completely changed my life and lifestyle. They’re my current priority and I’ve allocated a lot of my personal time to them. I used to travel a lot, but I’ve cut down on it as I cannot bear to be away from them for too long.”
What is the best thing about being a mother? Experiencing true, complete, unconditional love. Motherhood has tested me in every way. Being a mother has helped me learn more about myself and made me a better, stronger person.
What does Mother’s Day mean to you?
To me, it’s a special day to celebrate the contribution of my mother to the family. This year’s is a special one for me as it’s my first Mother’s Day with my children!
Tell us about your relationship with your mother. The relationship a woman has with her mum moulds her into the mother that she is today. My mum always stressed the importance of moral values when I was growing up. Her boundless love, and dedication and devotion to the family inspire me to be a role model to my children.
What do you plan to teach your children when they are older?
I will tell them to remember the importance of moral values, which will determine their actions and influence the decisions they make. And to contribute back to society whenever they can.
