GIFT OF A SAIL

The sixth ship in Regent Se ven Seas Cruises ’ flee t features a m ulti- million- dollar art collec tion, sprawling guest suites and all- ne w wellness experiences.

-

Enthralling experiences, spacious suites and a multi-million-dollar, 1,600-piece art collection that took nearly two years to curate and commission are just some of the things guests could experience aboard Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ newest ship, the 746-passenger Sevenseas

Grandeur, which set sail in November 2023.

The luxury cruise line’s sixth vessel in “The World’s Most Luxurious Fleet” carries on a proud tradition of opulence on the high seas more than 30 years in the making, thereby ensuring that every moment of a guest’s stay remains lavish, all-inclusive and utterly care-free.

Elegantly appointed, sprawling guest rooms – of which there are 15 categories aboard Sevenseasgrandeur, ranging from chic Veranda Suites all the way to the unfettered magnificence of the approximately 413sqm Regent Suite – work hand-in-hand with an unparalleled crew-to-guest ratio of 1 to 1.4, expansive social areas and a plethora of world-class facilities to create a sense of unrivalled space at sea.

Apart from a multitude of gourmet restaurants, cocktail bars and lounges that will never leave you for want of an empty chair or filled glass, guests can also look forward to a curated programme of at-sea entertainment options.

These include the Marauder’sball, a musical production directed by acclaimed Broadway stalwart John Macinnis that’s filled with swashbuckling legends, thrilling adventure and a good dose of modern hits-meets-folkloric sea shanties of old; and Pasion, a captivating performance celebrating the romance of the tango featuring chorographical input from Dancingwiththestars’ Britt Stewart and Argentine dancer Francisco Forquera.

Elsewhere, new and exclusive spa treatments provide guests of

Sevenseasgrandeur with an opportunity to reclaim mental clarity in a calming, multisensorial space designed by the award-winning Miami-based Studio DADO, which also happens to be the brains behind the entire ship’s interior design.

Novel wellness experiences in the seafaring sanctuary include muscle-relaxing scrubs on an amber and quartz crystal bed; a simulated zero-gravity wellness massage by way of an advanced treatment table; and, just for guests staying in the Regent Suite, an extra lavish in-suite treatment and hydration ritual hailing from the South Pacific, presuming that the suite’s built-in personal steam room and sauna aren’t already providing enough relaxation for you.

For the aesthetes, look to the aforementioned multi-million-dollar art collection, the crowning jewel of which surely is Journey in Jewels – the first ever Fabergé Egg to reside permanently at sea. The handcrafted ombré creation is a fitting collaboration between Regent Seven Seas Cruises and the maison, seeing as how Sarah Fabergé, founding member of The Fabergé Heritage Council and greatgranddaughter of the egg’s namesake Peter Carl Fabergé, is serving as

Sevenseasgrandeur’s godmother.

Like the ship itself, the ovoid oeuvre draws inspiration from the past – in this case, the Fabergé Winter Egg of 1913, influenced by elements of the ocean. External elements of the contemporary egg include a three-tiered base featuring ocean greens and a splash of turquoise, graduating into deep blue waves and finally a sea spray of pearls.

Besides being the first Fabergé Egg to find a home on the ocean, it also represents a first for the maison in the technique used to give the egg its ombré enamel shell, comprising seven blades – one for each of the seven seas – which unfurls via a mechanism hidden in the base, also a first for the brand.

Standing at approximately 18cm tall, the egg took Fabergé’s head of design Liisa Tallgren and a master supported by a team of artisans around 24 months to bring to reality.

The secret within the unfurled egg will only be divulged after Seven

Seasgrandeur takes to the ocean, where it and the egg it resides within will remain for the foreseeable future.

As part of the collaboration between the brands, Sarah Fabergé will also be hosting a 10-night sailing on Sevenseasgrandeur on July 1 2024. The cruise starts from Rome and ends in Monte Carlo, with Salerno, Taormina, Valletta and Barcelona among the ports of call.

While the full programme has yet to be released, Regent Seven Seas Cruises promises to bring guests into the world of Fabergé with small group master-class programmes, exclusive access to unique and intimate shore excursions, jewelled egg demonstrations and fascinating lectures and screenings.

Sevenseasgrandeur embarked on her maiden voyage last month, sailing across the Adriatic and Western Mediterranean as she travelled from Trieste to Barcelona.
