Auctioned by Phillips in London for £909,000 (S$1.7 million).
Keep Moving by Kaws
Created by American pop artist and designer Brian Donnelly, this piece is a nod to his famous largerthan-life fibreglass sculptures that supplant the body of Mickey Mouse onto the artist’s imagined creatures. It exceeded its top estimate of £250,000 at Phillips’ 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale, thereby setting a new auction record for Kaws. Keep Moving was executed in vivid acrylic paint on two sections of canvas in 2012, adding animation and depth to a contemporary painting. www.phillips.com
