BEAMS OF KELP

On a recent trip to the Southern Channel Islands, I contracted a terrible cold – so awful that I couldn’t descend below one metre; I really should have stayed on the boat!

But after multiple recent warmwater events that devastated much of the kelp in Southern California, I was so overjoyed to see the regeneration of this kelp bed that I couldn’t keep from getting in to capture its beauty in the fading light of the day.
