A good, suitable photographer has to be so much more than just being able to take good photos, and capturing them fast.

For overseas shoots, one should also look for a well-travelled photographer, as he is ‘photographer’ first, ‘travel companion’ a close second. You'll also be spending a lot of time together, so someone who is able to take suggestions and give advice, who is at least pleasant to interact with and sensible/responsible will ensure the shoot proceeds smoothly, barring other unforeseeable variables.
