The ne­ces­sity of sleep for phys­i­cal and men­tal health sim­ply means we ought to make the most of sleep time: by sleep­ing well. It be­gins with a good mat­tress suited to our habits and pref­er­ences, it is also helped by bear­ing some point­ers in mind: do not nap be­yond 30 min­utes dur­ing the day, avoid vig­or­ous ex­er­cise within 4 hours to bed­time, do not go to bed hun­gry, but avoid heavy meals within 2 hours to bed­time, get 7.5 to 9 hours of sleep to be at your best.
