One of the best things about a global village is that a city like Singapore that has limited space to grow its own crops and livestock can get anything from anywhere.

In theory, at least. In practice, only in the better food stores will one find gourmet foods not so easily available in regular stores. Quality meats, organic produce, foods that do not carry pesticides, antibiotics and the like: good food stores have the goods, and the knowledge to advise customers on the good stuff.
