This tropical resort-themed home of businessman Patrick Khoo is an expression of his passion for landscaping. Taking cues from nature, Khoo and Designworx Interior Consultant design director Terri Tan worked closely to create a family abode with interiors that would complement the 12,300-sqft property’s lush greenery, planted by the owner himself. The three-storey bungalow embodies a modern-luxe feel through the use of natural materials such as marble, onyx, granite and walnut wood, while gold leaf detailing adds a glamorous touch. Statement pieces, from fireworks-inspired chandeliers by Preciosa to a gold Bull & Stein apple sculpture, punctuate each room with grandeur. Eco-conscious features, such as ceiling fans that give the family the option to forgo air-conditioning and the use of low-emissivity glazing on the windows to improve thermal efficiency, complete the nature-inspired concept.
