UNIVERSAL ACCLAIM
La Pelota is a must-stop for design lovers in Milan and this year’s occupant—the cult favourite brand Vitra—made a memorable splash. The Swiss furniture manufacturer brought together a smattering collection of old and new in an exhibition called Typecasting: An Assembly of Iconic, Forgotten and New Vitra Characters. Curated by Paris-based designer Robert Stadler, the showcase features 200 objects from the Vitra archives, next to prototypes, special editions as well as new products, with each piece reflecting on the social function of furniture. Leading designers such as Konstantin Grcic, Barber & Osgerby, and Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec have also contributed their ideas for a collective living space. Available at Vitra by Grafunkt
