Dato Ritu Aurora, the principal designer of Jaipore jewels, knows her clientele very well. Her bespoke contemporary collections can be spotted on numerous fans of the brand throughout the region, although Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia are its strongest markets. Ritu and her son Nikhil, the director of the brand, have forged strong relationships with their clients over the years, to the point where many commit to the designs just on seeing the sketches and raw stones alone. The brand plans to expand its reach by setting up an office in the US, spearheaded by daughter Anushka Aurora.

Rare and precious gemstones are the lifeblood of Vihari Jewels—no surprise, considering that founder and designer Vihari Poddar comes from a family of gem traders. Previous conquests include a design with a seven-carat intense pink diamond, which went under the hammer last November, and a 110-carat intense yellow diamond. The latest collection, La Mariposa, showcases pink diamonds from the Argyle mine in Western Australia, which are of particular interest since the mine is slated for closure in 2020.
