FOUR FLUSH

The Histoire de Tourbillon has been a continuing project for Harry Winston since 2009, but this year’s edition is the final instalment. Determined to close the chapter with a bang, the brand has launched the Histoire de Tourbillon 10, the world’s very first watch to contain four tourbillons with four separate balances in a single movement. Each cage rotates once every 36 seconds— by using multiple regulating mechanisms is to take advantage of the qualities of each and harness their unique way of reacting to gravity. Each will run at its own rate but Harry Winston uses a complicated system of three differentials to negate and average their positions, which will then give an extremely precise time. The calibre HW4702 needs two pairs of fast-rotating barrels to provide a 55-hour power reserve.
