WHAT A CHARMER
In the local jewellery scene, the brand that tells the most beautiful stories has to be Simone Jewels. Founder and creative director Simone Ng draws inspiration from themes such as architecture, literature and art, channelling them into sparkling creations that run the gamut from timeless and elegant to whimsical and playful. This year, Simone is inspired by Bombshell, the documentary that tells the story of Wifi invention by 1940s Hollywood star Hedy Lamarr. The result? Jewellery pieces that exude Austrian old-world glamour and feature elements of music and opera—lamarr’s pet interests. While demonstrating her fine eye for aesthetics with these pieces, Simone pushes her limits by incorporating in them unexpected surprises—think miniature music boxes and secret compartments.
