BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S

A new home calls for a housewarming party, and Tiffany & Co welcomed over 150 VIPS and guests to celebrate in style with Breakfast at Tiffany’s, at its first street-front duplex store in April. The chichi i spread at the new 5,000sqft boutique in Ion Orchard included champagne and caviar blinis, mandatory croissants—a nod to the 1961 movie starring Audrey Hepburn—and oysters shucked on the spot by chef Emmanuel Stroobant. Untying the white bow on a little blue box is quite the thrill, but this time, a pair of giant scissors wass involved. Making the store’s opening grand and official, Chris Lui, managing director of Tiffany & Co Southeast Asia, cut through an outsized ribbon alongside Marc Jacheet, the jeweller’s group vice-president for Asia-pacific, and Chris Chong, CEO of Orchard Turn Developments. As breakfast turned into brunch, actors who had been mingling in the crowd burst into song, to the amusement of guests.
