1 This streamlined and figure-flattering A-line maxi that Hollywood star Michelle Williams wore at the 2016 Critics’ Choice Awards shows a strategic flash of leg, so that the ornate pattern of the caviar lace fabric does not overwhelm her petite frame. To ensure a precise fit, each panel of the dress was carefully cut from paper patterns and hand-stitched together to assemble the dress. The atelier also took special care to align the floral motif on each fabric panel to create the illusion that the dress is sculpted out of a continuous piece of lace.
