DESIGN ON THE DOCKS

THE WAREHOUSE HOTEL, SINGAPORE

-

Occupying an iconic 1895 godown (warehouse) on the banks of Robertson Quay—a building that stood at the centre of a host of secret societies, underground activities and liquor distilleries during the 19th century—the hotel has been meticulously restored by award-winning local design agency Asylum. The sleek industrial decor extends to the spacious rooms and suites, most of which come with river views and all with vast showers and lots of natural light. The hotel’s restaurant, Po, serves up modern spins on local favourites under the watch of Wild Rocket founder Willin Low. There’s a cracking lobby bar and a rooftop pool that overlooks the river, sitting peacefully above the hustle and bustle of the city. thewarehousehotel.com
