HOT AIR
The Como Scenic Heli-Adventure is the first opportunity in the kingdom’s history for tourists to take helicopter flights. The Royal Bhutan Helicopter Service has two brand-new Airbus H130 helicopters, which are used to provide emergency ambulance services and air access to Bhutan’s many remote mountain settlements. The country’s two pilots, both Britons with experience flying in some of the world’s most challenging environments, conduct 200 flights a year, with the Laya Valley among the highest altitudes reached.
