MILITARY MAYHEM
Three decades on, playwright Michael Chiang is back with the long-awaited sequel to Army Daze, a coming-of-age tale about five young men going through national service. In Army Daze 2, protagonist Malcolm Png is now an SAF regular, serving as its director of public affairs. When his son Justin begins national service, Malcolm is transported back to his old days as a recruit. Directed by Beatrice Chia-richmond, with an original score by Don Richmond, the production features a stellar cast including Hossan Leong, Ebi Shankara and Oon Shu An. Quite aptly, Army Daze 2 coincides with the 50th anniversary of national service in Singapore. From August 4 to 20, at Drama Centre Theatre. armydaze2.com
