WINNER’S CIRCLE

-

It is one thing to win the fifa World Cup, it is another thing to safely bring home the gold-plated winner’s trophy to a cheering crowd. The champions of the 2018 Fifa World Cup Russia, who will be crowned on July 15 in Moscow, will have nothing to worry about as Louis Vuitton has once again handcrafted a bespoke Fifa World Cup Trophy Travel Case to house the coveted trophy. This is its third collaboration with Fifa since the 2010 tournament in South Africa. And even if you have no trophy that needs transporting, the French luxury maison has ensured that you can still own a piece of football history with the limited-edition Fifa World Cup Official Match Ball Collection Trunk. Created in collaboration with Adidas, which has produced the official World Cup match balls since 1970, the special commemorative trunks are inspired by Louis Vuitton’s classic wardrobe trunk and decked out in its classic Monogram canvas with brass finishes, all hand-crafted in the maison’s storied ateliers in Asnières, France. When the trunk is unlatched, you will find inside 14 footballs so precious you wouldn’t dare get a speck of dust on them. Displayed on beech wood shelving, 13 of these balls are re-editions of all the official match balls made by Adidas for the Fifa World Cup, including the iconic Telstar from 1970. The last ball, made from natural cowhide leather, is especially significant as it is only the second football ever made by Louis Vuitton in its 164-year history.
