What began as a decade-long friendship between personal stylist Vanissa Antonious (pictured below right) and footwear designer Alan Buanne grew into Neous, a shoe brand that answered their common search for the perfect shoe. “We knew women were looking for a shoe they could meet the president in and then go straight onto a boat party with. We hated the idea of them having to pack an extra pair of shoes,” Antonious says. So they designed a range of versatile heels and flats, all in streamlined silhouettes except for an architectural heel here or a futuristic plexi detail there. Their signature ball heel design was inspired by the duo’s hometown of Sydney, where a wild and raw nature, reflected in the wood detail, lives harmoniously with a vibrant, glistening city, as shown in the accompanying plexi semi-sphere. The shoes are equally famous for their comfort. With a reasonable heel height and each ergonomically sound, the pieces are crafted by the same hands that create Salvatore Ferragamo’s shoes.
