The Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore) continues to raise awareness about muscle diseases and empowering its beneficiaries through its programmes
Feeding themselves, climbing up the stairs, raising their hands—these are just a few of the everyday tasks that people suffering from muscular dystrophy struggle to perform. This group of genetic diseases that causes progressive muscle weakening is what the Muscular Dystrophy Association (Singapore) (MDAS) has been working to raise awareness about since 2000. Through its annual gala dinner, MDAS hopes to raise funds for its integrated care plan that seeks to equip beneficiaries with functional and social skills, and boost their employability with vocational training. The Brazilian-themed fete will take place on September 22, at Shangri-la Hotel, Singapore’s Tower Ballroom. Guests can look forward to a catwalk segment showcasing hats by homegrown millinery Eskpade. mdas.org.sg
