SSO 2018/2019 SEASON OPENING
When the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) opened its 40th anniversary season in July, everyone in the family—from its patrons and supporters to its three choirs—turned up at the Esplanade Concert Hall. Along with Mussorgsky’s perennial favourite, Pictures at an Exhibition, the concert also showcased the voices of the Singapore Symphony Chorus, Singapore Symphony Youth Choir and Singapore Symphony Children’s Choir performing Borodin’s Polovtsian Dances alongside SSO. The 2018/2019 season will be music director Lan Shui’s last before he steps down in January 2019.
