Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse
Bistecca Steakhouse sports a dim and sexy front-of-house, but venture further in and you’ll be seated in a brightly lit area with tightly packed tables. The steakhouse is known for the massive steak Fiorentina, but it also does other Italian classics well. First things first: beef. Consider the 500g bone-in sirloin to share between two people. Prepared medium-rare, the 420-day grainfed beef is juicy, flavourful and has a lovely bite. The pastas are also delicious. The tagliatelle with oxtail ragu, mushroom and celeriac purée is spot on, with the oxtail braised until fork-tender and the celeriac adding a creamy acidity to the dish. Tipplewise, expect a strong menu of more than 100 Italian wines from around the country, and a generous and well-balanced selection of wines by the glass (with an impressive 15 choices for house pours). The restaurant also has a cocktail menu that features an interesting selection of botanical-based gin cocktails.
