Boca
Boca highlights Portuguese cuisine with Mediterranean influences. A pot of Bulhão Pato aromatic steamed clams, succulently sweet, can be further enjoyed by mopping up the white wine, lemon and coriander broth with thickly sliced crusty bread. Cured codfish lagareiro with garlic, potato and spinach is dressed generously with olive oil. The roasted suckling pig is served on a large wooden platter, accompanied by green salad, potato crisps, orange wedges and a secret sauce. Dainty egg tarts are enticingly rich, creamy and pleasantly sweet. A list of Portuguese wines (including fortified port) also features sangria and other regional beverages. Situated in a three-storey shophouse, the dark blue, white and black decor incorporates a wall mural of the iconography of Portugal, including football, black swallows and a Cristo Rei statue, facing a bar counter and open kitchen areas. Friendly staff do their best to serve.
