The modern Australian cuisine served here brims with wholesome flavours. A threecourse set lunch starts off with delicious roasted quail, artfully plated and tastefully trimmed with chestnut, mushroom and mint. The main of steak and frites—stockyard Angus with triple-cooked chips and Café de Paris sauce as an accompaniment—is tender and succulent. The burnt pear is certainly a treat here, with hay panna cotta, pear sorbet and salted caramel all coming together in an indulgent interplay of sweet sensations. Service is a touch overzealous and menu explanations could be further improved.
