Dinner at Esora is a journey of superlatives—from the restrained and stunning restaurant design to the works of art that are served on the plate. The chef’s signature monaka features foie gras, fig jam, micro-greens and edible flowers sandwiched between the fine wafers, beautifully presented in a leaffilled wicker basket. Another memorable morsel, the hamaguri tempura, features ocean-fresh clam fried in paper-thin dumpling skin and topped with yuzu foam, Japanese spring onion and tiny petals. The definite highlight of the meal is the sashimi selection, where exquisite seafood is stunningly presented on personalised trays with seasonal flowers and leaves; the sashimi and sushi courses have never been celebrated so gorgeously. A deserving finale to the meal, the white peach dessert, which features Yamanashi peach with fresh yoghurt ice cream, Toho Bijin jelly and an icy fresh peach sauce, adds one more indelible memory to an already unforgettable meal.
