Gunther’s is a charming, modern French establishment with elegant art deco flourishes. The menu selection here begins with a trolley of the freshest and most beautiful produce, wheeled to the table for diners to see what the chef is cooking with that day. Taking our cue from regulars at the restaurant, the first course of cold angelhair pasta with oscietra caviar arrives with generous shavings of seasonal black truffle. It’s delicious and absolutely worthy as a signature dish. The giant Alaskan king crab leg that’s served next is grilled to perfection and served with a fine mix of turnip, Comté cheese and black truffle shavings. Another memorable and hearty seafood entrée is the carabinero gambas, grilled and served with a side of tomato-infused rice. Completing the meal on a high note, the apple tarte aux dragées is crusted with chopped roasted almond and salted caramel, and is served with homemade Havana rum and raisin ice cream.
