With only seven tables facing the open kitchen where British chef-owner Paul Longworth holds court, the restaurant proffers an intimate and exclusive ambience. It’s worth noting that French ownermanager Jerome Desfonds’ refined service and warm hospitality immediately puts you at ease. With only two degustation menus and a short à la carte list, Longworth displays the finesse of his cooking with the nobility of the produce, the lyrical interplay of textures and the paring down of everything unessential. What you get on the plate is a harmony of flavours, stripped of any theatrics. The wine list is focused on Old World labels, especially from Desfonds’ home country, but expect to be surprised by his recommendations, which pair beautifully with the food.
