Located on the 60th floor of UOB Plaza, this Chinese stalwart has been on the scene since 1996 and is a pioneer of refined Sichuan and Cantonese cuisines. A popular favourite, the whole roasted Beijing duck is perfectly executed, and the accompanyi­ng mandarin pancake drizzled with sweet bean sauce elevates the dish. Representi­ng what Sichuan fare is all about is the Chongqing chilled chicken, cooked to a sumptuous crispness and paired with spicy bean paste for an explosion of bold and delicious flavours. Tone down the spiciness with fried rice tossed with generous Wagyu cuts that’s topped with poached egg; the sprinkle of truffle sauce gives the rice an added depth of flavour and fragrance. Service is commendabl­e, as the staff are able to provide good recommenda­tions to enhance the dining experience. Overall, it’s a reputable restaurant that doesn’t disappoint thanks to its stellar Cantonese fare coupled with personable service.
