Whisper in the Wind
A MESMERISING COLLECTION BY WINDFALL ADDS GLAMOUR AND PERSONALITY TO THE SPACES IT DECORATES
Since its inception in 2004, Windfall and its opulent crystal chandelier creations have been warmly welcomed in luxurious establishments and abodes. A virtuoso when it comes to infusing subtle sophistication into spaces, the German lighting brand uses topgrade crystals mostly fashioned by Swarovski. As an ardent proponent of contemporary design and craftsmanship, it has also collaborated with eminent designers such as Philippe Starck, as well as the foremost names in luxury including Cartier, Harry Winston and Roberto Cavalli. To date, Windfall has crafted a diverse array of enchanting chandeliers—most recently, it unveiled the Flower collection, which was designed to captivate with its elegance, while being configurable to match the space it decorates.
BESPOKE BEAUTY
In Windfall’s Flower collection, multicoloured drops of crystal are joined on metal to form floral and butterflylike shapes that cascade down in breathtaking forms that resemble waterfalls and clouds of crystal. “I think the beauty and uniqueness of this chandelier is that it draws your eyes to the moving lights reflected by the crystal petals,” remarks Nancy Chen, director of Windfall Asia. “The flowers are suspended by metal cables and when they rotate, they create a spectrum of dancing light onto the adjacent surfaces.” For this compelling creation, the combinations that can be arranged upon its lithe steel wires are almost limitless, allowing its owners to express themselves in different ways. The size, arrangement and colour of its crystal petals can be crafted to its owner’s taste and preferences. The Swarovski crystal petals that form each flower are available in six different colour choices, while its metal wires can be finished in gold, chrome, nickel, copper or bronze.
SIMPLE SOPHISTICATION
Beyond its dazzling beauty, Chen shares that the Flower chandelier, along with Windfall’s other meticulously crafted creations, are easy to care for. Large crystals can be cleaned quickly with a soft and damp cloth, she advises, while more intricate Windfall crystals should be sprayed with pure distilled water from time to time, and left to dry naturally so that no residue forms. Besides the shape, size and composition, the height of this chandelier can also be customised to suit different decor themes and settings. The suspended objet d’art can be illuminated by either downlights or a reflector plate, both of which are designed to endow a room with a lively mood, while dazzling admirers with its enthralling play of light and colour.
