Prestige Global Designs gives the Crestar and Spin Fans Experiential Lab immersive spaces that highlight its stylish products in real-life settings

The sculptural ceiling fan rotates languidly overhead, its eye-catching black blades beautifully matched by the elongated, dark-hued palm leaves depicted on the exotic wallpaper that graces the bedroom in which it is installed. On the bed are cushions sporting black geometric patterns on their plush forms, while ebony-hued night tables and lamps with dark bases help tie the whole look together.

It is an eminently harmonious composition, pale and shot through with black highlights, that would it any modern, stylish home perfectly.

This opulent space is part of the new Crestar and Spin Fans Experiential Lab in Tampines

North in Singapore. The bedroom and various other tableaux inspired by real-life settings were conceptualised by multi-awardwinning interior practice Prestige Global Designs to showcase how the client’s fans would look in actual homes. Each space in the two-level showroom sports the design practice’s signature luxurious aesthetic, imbued with a number of creative and unique elements that effortlessly communicate the company’s brand essence.

SPINNING A TALE

Prestige Global Designs started by combining two units to form the 2,700 sq ft experiential lab. Alluding to an early challenge, the irm’s co-founder, Jeremy Tay, reveals that the original walls and ceiling “had many existing beams,

so some planning was required to smoothen out all this unevenness”. The client had also stated that a certain number of fans were to be installed for display, which called for a conscientious plan to showcase these products in an uncluttered and tasteful manner. “We paid special attention to the flow of the layout to create a very comfortable visitor experience,” says Tay.

The stage is aptly set right from the concierge zone, where an elegant, wheelchair-accessible entryway with fan-shaped walls assures a degree of privacy and an element of surprise before guests enter the experiential lab proper. “The walls were inspired by the form of the fan blades to create a unique look and make a bold statement,” he adds. LED lights play up their organic shape, which also serves to create movement while subtly demarcating the various spaces. Bronze details add glamour.

Other bespoke touches pepper the showroom and showcase the interior irm’s sense of invention.

These take the form of wall lights created using the lighting accessories from the client’s products, and fan blades that are employed as staircase handrails.

THE STO Y UNFOLDS

The irst space guests encounter after the concierge area is an airy, gourmet-style kitchen, complete with an island inspired by the shape of a fan blade. A selection of whitehued fans is suspended overhead to create a sense of drama, while a custom abstract artwork created in collaboration with Layerplay, cloud-themed wallcoverings, and a Japanese-inspired floral arrangement lend artistic verve. A large TV showcases information on Crestar fans.

Next come the living room and bedroom setups; besides hints of black, their light palette is also augmented with pops of brown

and grey for a timeless look. Fluted panels and bronzed mirrors add tactility and depth to the living space. Also notable is the charming study area, which is carved out in one corner and employs black and white tones for a classic feel.

On the second level are the

Spin Fans Experience Gallery and a meeting room. The Experience Gallery lets prospective customers peruse information on the brand’s offerings and view colour and material options while a TV plays videos highlighting the products’ sleek, contemporary forms. The meeting room, which features a series of vintage fans itted above the conference table for extra character, lets visitors relax with a drink while they inalise their orders.

The three-month project was completed in September 2023, resulting in a cohesive retail space cleverly jazzed up by a medley of classic tones, visual highlights, unique design elements and, of course, the sculptural products themselves. “The client gave us full trust and was very receptive to new ideas,” smiles Tay.
