The third edition of the Singapore Internatio­nal Jazz Festival brings music from around the world and at home

t has been said that without music, life would be a mistake. This March leaves no room for error as the 2016 Singapore Internatio­nal Jazz Festival, or Sing Jazz, returns for its third successive year of music for the soul. Set at the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza from March 4 to 6, the Music for All festival will feature a variety of music genres from both internatio­nal and local acts. Headlining the three nights of festivitie­s are neo-soul band Hiatus Kaiyote, Grammy Award winner Joss Stone, and the legendary Buena Vista Social Club, which is making its final tour. Homegrown talents including popular singer-songwriter Charlie Lim anand Singaporea­n jazz pioneer Jeremy Monteiro will add local flavour to the line-up. To expand the star-studded list, Sing Jazz has collaborat­ed with Singapore’s indie music station Lushl 99.5FM to showcase more local talent in the Lushl Limelight on the Lushlovesl­ocal Stage each night ofo the festival. Music lovers can look out for names suchs as singer-songwriter Dru Chen and alternativ­e soulso band The Good Life Project featuring Vandetta, as well as up-and-coming musicians like hip-hop group Mediocrem Haircut Crew. Sing Jazz proceeds will go to non-profit organisati­on Foundation­fo for the Arts and Social Enterprise, whichwh nurtures and promotes the local art scene throughthr initiative­s and projects such as the Sing Jazz Academy.aca sing-jazz.com
