The third edition of the Singapore International Jazz Festival brings music from around the world and at home
t has been said that without music, life would be a mistake. This March leaves no room for error as the 2016 Singapore International Jazz Festival, or Sing Jazz, returns for its third successive year of music for the soul. Set at the Marina Bay Sands Event Plaza from March 4 to 6, the Music for All festival will feature a variety of music genres from both international and local acts. Headlining the three nights of festivities are neo-soul band Hiatus Kaiyote, Grammy Award winner Joss Stone, and the legendary Buena Vista Social Club, which is making its final tour. Homegrown talents including popular singer-songwriter Charlie Lim anand Singaporean jazz pioneer Jeremy Monteiro will add local flavour to the line-up. To expand the star-studded list, Sing Jazz has collaborated with Singapore’s indie music station Lushl 99.5FM to showcase more local talent in the Lushl Limelight on the Lushloveslocal Stage each night ofo the festival. Music lovers can look out for names suchs as singer-songwriter Dru Chen and alternative soulso band The Good Life Project featuring Vandetta, as well as up-and-coming musicians like hip-hop group Mediocrem Haircut Crew. Sing Jazz proceeds will go to non-profit organisation Foundationfo for the Arts and Social Enterprise, whichwh nurtures and promotes the local art scene throughthr initiatives and projects such as the Sing Jazz Academy.aca sing-jazz.com
