Give the models a run for their money in the latest season’s make-up by eponymous fashion labels

INDIAN SUMMER Yves Saint Laurent Beauté’s

Savage Escape Couture Palette Collector is truly lust-worthy. The sexy smoky case houses five new summer shades, from a shimmery pink base that doubles as a highlighter under your eyes, to the pale blue that we recommend using around the inside corners to brighten eyes. “When I created this, I thought of a girl waking up in the desert in blue jeans, in love with the colours of dawn,” said Lloyd Simmonds, creative director of make-up for the brand.

F FOR FLAWLESS

The mod eye make-up at Chanel’s spring haute couture show was on point, but it was the complexions of the models that we lusted after. Achieve oh-so-perfect youthful skin with the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation. The texture feels fluffy, suggesting sheer coverage, but it successfully blurs fine lines and hides mild freckles. Most importantly, it doesn’t melt under the sun nor does it disappear from your skin after a nine-hour wear. Promise!

DOWN THE LINE Tom Ford

launched six shades of the new High Definition Eye Liner. Burnished Gold is most spectacular. The shimmery colour of this mechanical eye pencil is so intense it doesn’t fade under the heat of the island sun. After application above the lashes and on the lash line, we gently rubbed our eyes to test its staying power. Consider us impressed; while the colour on the waterline moved slightly, the pigment elsewhere was strong as ever.

SHEEN QUEEN

If you can bring yourself to use the gorgeous Burberry Limited Edition Spring/summer 2016 Runway Palette, take the brand’s make-up artistic consultant Wendy Rowe’s advice and “apply it around the perimeter of the face from forehead to chin”. The lightweight illuminating face powder, set with a lace pattern inspired by the fabrics from the womenswear show, also gives eyelids a hint of pearly, translucent glow.

SEEING RED

So spectacular is this Dior lipstick, the fashion house named it Diorific. Of the two Diorific Matte Lipsticks released in conjunction with this season’s haute couture collection, we love Fabuleuse (the other is Troublante, a rich burgundy). This non-drying classic red lipstick has unparalleled staying power while the blue undertones make fair skin look fairer and tan skin look more alive. Psst: it makes your teeth look whiter too.
