Boasting undeniable chemistry and a close bond, Trina Liang-lin and Edmund Lin turn on their charms for the camera
hen singapore tatler found out that Trina Liang-lin and Edmund Lin had set up their own charitable foundation earlier this year, we instantly knew that we wanted them to front our Giving Issue. “We’ve not even announced it on Facebook,” Trina told us when we first mooted the idea to her. But they readily acquiesced. And so on a Thursday morning, the couple rolled up bright and early to a studio in the east of Singapore. While Trina is an old hand in front of the camera, it was Edmund’s first time doing solo shots. Nonetheless, the media-shy partner of Bain & Company had nothing to worry about; the camera loved him and his spot was over in a matter of minutes. The couple had an especially good time cuddling up under an oversized Christian Dada coat—cue the laughter. But the most lol-worthy moment happened when she gave a quick, cursory glance at the jewellery by Cartier—“is this a pineapple?” she exclaimed, pointing to the striking Cactus collection. But her initial confusion turned to lust when she picked up the lapis lazuli, diamond and gold pieces in her hand for the cover shot. While Trina preferred the muted colours of the outfits she wore for the cover story on p.170, she was surprised that she fell for the yellow hue of the Dior dress she donned for the cover shot. “I didn’t think much of it really when I saw it, but when I put it on, it looked great! It’s not even a colour I would usually wear.” Speaking of fashion, we had to bring up that amazing black Alberta Ferretti gown she wore to this year’s Singapore Tatler Ball; “I had such a fun time,” she gushed. “It’s such a classic, easy-to-wear silhouette,” she then dismissed our compliments with characteristic humility on how stunning she looked that night. Trust her to play that down—no Trina, only someone like you could pull that off!
