ASTON MARTIN
Well, because of the marque’s goal: “Lagonda aims to be the world’s first zero-emission luxury brand”, and also because the Lagonda Vision Concept looks mighty sexy. The concept car resembles a four-wheeled masterpiece crafted for the year 3000, but in reality, it has been made for a time much earlier—2021, to be exact, which is when it will go into production. The arduous task undertaken by its design and engineering team? To balance the advanced technologies of electric and autonomous-driving cars with a cutting-edge design that weaves in luxurious features such as a cabin draped in cashmere and silk. The car will see its power source incorporated into its floor rather than in front of the passenger cabin, removing the need for a bonnet and leaving more space for efficient use. It will also have rear-hinged back doors that open upwards with a section of the car’s roof, allowing passengers to enter the car without having to bend down to avoid bumping their heads. Also, in autonomous driving mode, front-seat passengers can retract the steering wheel and rotate 180 degrees to have a face-to-face conversation with the rear passengers. How’s that for revolutionary?
