An authentic Italian welcome and feasting. FOOD For starters, the Gamberetti (prawn tails in a smoked tomato-and-basil salsa accompanied by an avocado mousse and lemon aïoli) hits the right note, while the beetroot, pear and fig tartlet topped with salty candied walnuts is delicious. The spicy free-range sous vide half chicken, served with duck fat potatoes and a rustic salad, is all homely goodness. Finish with the warm chocolate brownie made up of 70% dark chocolate, praline and Amaretto custard and served with vanilla gelato – this is dessert heaven. DRINKS Great selection of cocktails, local and international wines. There are also craft beers and Stella Artois on tap, plus a fairly good selection of champagnes. Take note for those who order by the glass: it’s measured at 185ml. SERVICE Extremely friendly and well-trained staff. AMBIENCE Warm and welcoming, with Italian-type murals and soft furnishings. (AM)
