-

BEST FOR Modern dining in a mid-century space. FOOD Under the guidance of Ané Wait, the menu is forever changing without veering away from its roots as a brasserie. Cauliflower and goat’s cheese soup, moules vin blanc with pommes frites or steak tartare are some of the starters you can enjoy. Duck salad with berries and currant dressing is substantial yet refreshing. A wonderful duo of beef with wild mushroom consommé, foie gras ravioli and fillet en croûte, or their legendary 440g chateaubriand to share are main course options. Vegetarians will enjoy the gnocchi ratatouille. Have a trio of classic desserts or a cheese plate to round off the meal. DRINKS The cellar selection includes some excellent choices as well as a great number of wines by the glass. SERVICE Under the expert guidance of Sinisa Nikolic, the service is attentive and professional. AMBIENCE This iconic house by Karl Jooste is a stylish and elegant space. (HF)
