Born and raised in Mbombela,

Yoke van Dam has always been an entrepreneur at heart ready to think outside the box. During her school years at Hoërskool Bergvlam, she became famous for selling her homemade pizza slices every Friday during break. The profit this budding entrepreneur made was immediately reinvested in her venture and it was evident, even from a young age, that she would one day continue to innovate and prosper in her own business.

Twenty years later she is a qualified behavioural change coach and

CEO of Y-Connect (www.y-connect. biz/). Van Dam is still pushing the boundaries to help her community and finding new ways to prosper amid a global pandemic.

“I have connected with many people in the medical and wellness profession, from optometrists to physical therapists and beauticians who all have the same problem since the start of Covid-19. During the hard lockdown and even the softer lockdown, they are not able to open their practices as they cannot go online with them,” explained

Van Dam.

This global pain point inspired her to develop a free online workshop called “five ways to diversify your income” designed specifically for medical and wellness professionals. “I want to empower these specialists with the necessary tools and solutions to reach new potential markets and innovatively harness their expertise amid a fourth

Covid-19 wave or uncertain times.” During this workshop, attendees will learn how to activate their strengths and stay resilient during the fourth wave of Covid-19 or any other financial or political uncertainty, how to position themself as an expert or as the thought leader in their market, how to get buy-in from clients even when their practice cannot be open during lockdown, how to find new potential clients or markets, either in a virtual environment or diversifying existing resources, and how to embrace storytelling and presentation techniques to improve their digital footprint and branding.
